Small Business Month With Coast Capital

This month is small business month and with Coast Capital Savings making great strides every day to give their members simple financial help, we created a video to showcase their awesome service to their small business members!

The whole Pixel team piled into the car and headed out from our Vancouver office and into the fraser valley for a fun filled day of video production in a cranberry field! We met up with one of Coast’s business banking officers where she took the time to learn more about her clients needs.

For us, it was imperative to know the blocking of the scene and how we would film while operating in a sea of cranberries. We mic’d up both the Coast rep and the small business owner with wireless lavalier mics. We then covered the scene with a glidecam for the moving shots and then had our b-cam set up on a shoulder rig to cover the close ups when not in fast action.

It was a bit tough wading out into the cranberry fields as the ground wasn’t always flat – this made it difficult when trying to get a tracking shot with the glidecam. But fortunately enough we made it work and got the coverage we needed! We went on to produce two other separate videos for Coast around small business month which featured a party supply store and a cupcake bakery! Needless to say, we had a ton of fun as always and got the chance to tell some really cool and inspiring stories.
